Types of Literature Reviews
Systematic Literature Review (SLR)
SLR follows a rigorous methodology, systematically evaluating all available evidence to provide a holistic understanding of a subject. We develop search strings to ensure all relevant articles are captured, as well as inclusion and exclusion criteria, based on the population of interest.
Targeted Literature Review (TLR)
TLR is a focused approach tailored to extract relevant information, initially using a broad search, followed by in-depth research on specific areas of interest. Two independent reviewers assess the title and abstract of articles first (phase 1) followed by the full-text review of the articles (phase 2). Data are extracted in a data extraction form.
